Personal & Small Group Training
Personal and small group training at Underdogs is premised entirely on meeting you where you’re at.
Laura has been a beginner in the gym. She’s been the only woman in a gym. She’s had aggressive coaches and trainers who made assumptions (over-estimating and under-estimating) about what she could or could not do. She’s felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, and she’s been made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
And she doesn’t want any of that for you.
Training with Laura means training with a trauma-informed coach in a supportive environment where she meets you where you are in your health and fitness journey. It means being encouraged to try new things and do more while being listened to about what you/your body can do that day. It means learning that you’re stronger than you know while being motivated by a compassionate and knowledgeable coach/trainer.
If you’ve never been comfortable in a gym before or you’ve never found a trainer who listens to and supports you, we encourage you to give training with Laura a try. Many Underdogs members and clients of Laura’s say they’ve never stuck with any gym or trainer before; that they’ve never felt safe/comfortable before…and here so many of them remain, years later.

Note that if your personal training sessions include boxing, you will have to purchase gloves and hand wraps. From Underdogs Boxing Club, gloves are $55 and hand wraps are $15. If you’d prefer to purchase elsewhere, please be sure to ask Laura for advice on what to purchase.
All personal & small group training sessions (single sessions or packages) must be paid for in advance via e-transfer to laura@underdogsboxing.org.
Packages of personal training sessions must be used in twice the number of weeks as sessions in the package. In other words, a five-session package must be used within 10 weeks; a ten-session package must be used within 20 weeks; a 20-session package must be used within 40 weeks; and a 30-session package must be used within 60 weeks.
In addition to having a few more minutes for the main portion of the workout, 60-minute sessions include a prescribed and/or guided warm-up and cool-down/stretching. That said, 30-minute sessions are highly effective.
Small group training that includes two or three participants is intended for the same two or three participants each session. If you have a group of four who would like to participate together, e-mail Laura at laura@underdogsboxing.org to discuss further.
If you’ve not participated at Underdogs in the past, Laura will also send you paperwork that must be completed and e-mailed back to Laura prior to your session.
